Excluding content from an individual report

Select My Files from the sidebar.

Find the file  you'd like to view and select its title.

Once your document has loaded, select the gear icon from the top right-hand corner of the side panel.

Using the checkboxes, select the content types you would like to exclude from all future documents:
  Bibliography

Originality Check looks for header phrases associated with terminology relating to a bibliography and excludes any material following it from the Similarity Report. Originality Check then looks for a terminating header to resume the similarity check. A full list of beginning and terminating phrases can be found here.

 

  Quotes

Originality Check looks for all content between quotation marks and excludes this text from the report. A list of supported quotation mark types can be found here.

 

  Abstract

Originality Check looks for a header named Abstract and excludes any material following it from the Similarity Report. Originality Check then looks for a terminating header to resume the similarity check.

 

  Methods and Materials

Originality Check looks for a header named Methods and Materials and excludes the material following it from the Similarity Report. Originality Check then looks for a terminating header to resume the similarity check.

 

  Small Matches - # Words Originality Check will remove all matches that are less than or equal to the length of the number of words supplied.

If everything looks good, select Done button to apply your changes.
