Resubmitting on Behalf of a Student

The following information will help you resubmit a student's paper to Turnitin through your learning management system or virtual learning environment. Before you proceed, we advise checking that the file you'd like to submit will be accepted. Click here to view all accepted file types and sizes.

 

Note: To resubmit on behalf of a student, you must enable resubmissions in your assignment settings.

Enabling Resubmissions

 

You can find below some quick steps on how to enable resubmissions. Click here for more help.

 

1. Click the LTI Settings tab.

2. Click Optional Settings.

3. Scroll to find Originality Report Generation and Submissions.
4. To enable resubmissions, select Generate reports immediately (resubmissions are allowed until due date) or Generate reports on due date (resubmissions are allowed until due date) from the drop-down menu.

5. Click the Submit button to save your settings.

Resubmitting on Behalf of a Student

 

To resubmit on behalf of a student, please ensure that resubmissions are enabled for the assignment, that the student has already submitted to the assignment and that the student's initial submission is visible in the Assignment Inbox.

 

1. From the Assignment Inbox, select Options.

2. From the sub menu, select Upload.

 

3. Click Confirm if you understand that all marks and comments associated with the submission will be deleted if you opt to resubmit the paper. Alternatively, click Cancel. 

 

 

Paper Upload Submission

 

The upload submission option allows you to submit your paper to the assignment by directly loading the file from your device.

 

1. Enter a Submission Title in the box provided.

 

 

2. You can opt to upload your file in one of two ways:

 

2a. Click Select a file to upload and locate the file on your device.

 

2b. Alternatively, drag the file you would like to submit into the boxed area.

 

3.  Click Continue to upload the file to Turnitin and allow the file to process. Alternatively, click Cancel to locate a different file.

If resubmissions are not enabled for this assignment, you may not be able to resolve any incorrect submissions.

4. Review your upload, then click Accept Submission & Save to submit the file to Turnitin. Alternatively, click Cancel Submission if you need to make any changes.

 

 

 

Text Input Submission

 

The text input submission option allows you to submit text from word processors or file types that Turnitin does not support. You can also use this method to submit specific parts or areas of a document that may need a Similarity Report to be generated.

Only text can be submitted via this method; any graphics, graphs, images, and formatting are lost when pasting text into the submission text box. 

  1. Click the Text Input tab.

 

 

2. Enter a Submission Title in the box provided.

 

3. Type or paste the text of your submission into the Submission Text box.

 

4. Click the Continue button to proceed with the submission,  allow the text to process, then review it carefully on the next screen.

 If resubmissions are not enabled for this assignment, you may not be able to resolve any incorrect submissions.

5. Click Accept Submission & Save to submit the file to Turnitin. Alternatively, click Cancel Submission if you need to make any changes.

 

 

Cloud Submission

 

You can upload a file directly from your Google Drive or Dropbox account.

 

1. Click on the Additional Options drop-down menu and select either Google DriveDropbox, or OneDrive.

 

 

2. Locate your file within Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive,  allow the file to process, then review it carefully on the next screen.

3. Click Accept Submission & Save to submit the file to Turnitin. Alternatively, click Cancel Submission if you need to make any changes.
