Prompt: In some parts of the United States, students are being encouraged to start thinking about how to get into college when they are in middle school or even grade school. Some high-school students and parents agree that starting early to prepare for college and career is essential, while others argue that starting too soon may contribute to burnout.

Do you feel that you should have started earlier to prepare for college, or do you agree with those who feel that high-school students now face a “college admissions frenzy”? Write a  statement addressing students and parents at your school, making a strong case either for or against getting an early start on college planning. Remember to anticipate and answer opposing viewpoints.
