Grades 6 | Argumentative
Imagine that your school district is thinking about replacing salty, sugary snacks such as chips and colas in school vending machines with healthier snacks such as protein bars and juice. Some students and parents feel that offering only healthy choices will encourage students to eat better, but others feel that it’s fine to eat treats occasionally and that students should be able to choose any kind of snacks they like. Write a letter to parents arguing for or against the plan to sell only healthy food in vending machines. Use examples that will persuade them to agree with you.
