Attention Unicheck customers:
As you know, Turnitin plans to shut down the Unicheck platform in 2024; please be aware of the following information to help plan your institution's migration to its chosen Turnitin product:
- Beginning in 2023, Turnitin transitioned support of the Unicheck platform to "maintenance mode" only. While we may provide bug fixes as necessary, no further product developments will be released. In some cases, this may lead to interruption of service if you have not started migrating off the platform.
- After December 31, 2024, Unicheck will no longer be available for use and customers will not be able to access the platform.
If you have any questions or would like assistance with migration planning, please reach out to the Turnitin Migrations team at UCmigration@turnitin.com.

How does our institution migrate to Turnitin Similarity?
- Pre-migration - Stage 1: Planning the migration
- During the Pre-migration phase, you will consider a list of questions from Turnitin to plan your institution’s migration from Unicheck to your new Turnitin solution and facilitate the most-effective conversations within your institution as you plan.
- This is when you will also need to choose the desired migration window. Each migration window will last for 4 weeks, during which time you will have access to both your Unicheck account and your new Turnitin account.
- Migration - Stage 2: Setup, testing and moving to Turnitin
- During the migration phase, you will gain access to your new Turnitin solution. During this "migration window" you will set up your new account, test its functionality, and complete the transition to your new Turnitin solution. You will also have access to resources for onboarding and training.
- Post-migration - Stage 3: Support and follow-up
- During the post-migration phase, your institution will begin using your new Turnitin solution. You will continue to have access to onboarding and training resources as well as the Turnitin Customer Support team to address any questions or concerns.
