Submitting on behalf of a student in Feedback Studio for Blackboard LTI 1.3

These directions typically apply to LTI 1.3 integrations. If you are using an LTI 1.1 integration, you can refer to these directions but we have noted below where the features differ. You might want to reach out to your LMS admin about updating to the LTI 1.3 integration if available.

These directions apply to both submitting or resubmitting a student's paper, however, please note the following information about resubmitting:

  • With the LTI 1.1 integration, instructors can only resubmit on behalf of a student.
  • To resubmit on behalf of a student, please ensure that resubmissions are enabled for the assignment, that the student has already submitted to the assignment, and that the student's initial submission is visible in the Assignment Inbox.
  • If the assignment is set to anonymous, submitting on behalf of a student will not be possible in order to maintain anonymity.

To submit or resubmit to an assignment, follow these steps:

  1. In the Assignment Inbox, locate the student submission you would like to submit or resubmit to.
  2. Under the Options column, select the three-dots menu and select Upload.
  3. The Submit File dialog will appear. Use the tabs at the top of the dialog to choose the submission method you'd like to use.

There are three ways to submit a file, as outlined below.

Upload submission

  • Enter a Submission Title in the field provided.
  • You can either select the Choose File button to upload the file, or you may drag the file you'd like to submit onto the boxed area of the dialog.

We advise referencing our accepted file types guidance.

  • Proceed to step 4 below.

Text input

  • Enter a Submission Title into the field provided.
  • Type or paste the text of the submission into the Submission Text field.
  • Proceed to step 4 below.

Cloud submission

  • Select the Cloud Submission dropdown menu and select Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive.
  • In the window that appears, locate and select your file and allow it to process.
  • Proceed to step 4 below.

When you have uploaded your file, continue the submission process as outlined below.

  1. Select the Upload and Review button to proceed to the review stage.
  2. Review your upload, and then select Submit to Turnitin, or choose Cancel Submission to make any changes.
  3. Please don't leave the submission process until you've seen the Submission Complete notice.
