Instructors can provide personalized feedback to students via inline comments. You can also suggest to remove specific text using strikethroughs.
Strikethrough
Strikethrough marks indicate that text should be deleted.
Adding strikethroughs
Selecting a piece of text, you have the option to strike through a piece of text, instead of adding an inline comment.
- Choose the S icon to strike through.
Deleting strikethroughs
- To remove the strikethrough from a piece of text, hover over the text with your mouse, and select the trash can icon that appears above.
A banner confirming your deletion will appear at the top of the paper. - If you change your mind, click Undo from the banner to reinstate your strikethrough text.
Inline Comments
Inline comments allow you to leave text directly on your student's paper.
Adding inline comments
Inline comments allow you to leave text directly on top of your student's paper.
- Click anywhere on a paper to reveal the in-context marking tool.
- Select the T icon and then begin typing your comment.
- Click anywhere outside the comment box to save.
Revising and moving inline comments
- To revise the inline comment, simply click the text of the inline comment and make your changes.
- You can also edit the in-line comment any time by tapping on the in-line comment from the Turnitin Viewer.
- Click anywhere outside the comment box to save.
- You can move a comment by clicking and dragging it to where you would like to place it.
Deleting inline comments
- To delete an inline comment, hover over the comment with your mouse and select the trash can icon that appears above the comment.
- If you accidentally delete an inline comment, you can reinstate it by selecting Undo on the notification that appears at the top of the paper.
