Blueprint courses can be used with Turnitin LTI assignments with known limitations. Turnitin does not officially support Blueprint courses and enhancements are not planned for the roadmap at this time.
When a Turnitin LTI 1.3 assignment is created in a Blueprint course it can be pushed to another Canvas course or courses with all settings intact - both Canvas and Turnitin.
However, if changes are made to Turnitin settings after the assignment has been pushed not all settings will be applied:
- Not applied: Turnitin specific integrity and feedback settings such as feedback release date, repository storage options, student access to reports, etc.
- Applied: Changes made to shared fields with Canvas (i.e. assignment title and due date) will be pushed to those Canvas courses.
Therefore if you choose to use Blueprint courses at your institution, any changes to Turnitin settings made after the assignments have been pushed will need to be updated manually in all those courses
This guide for instructors explains how to create, edit, and manage a Turnitin assignment in Canvas LTI 1.3.
In this guide:
Turnitin has a variety of assignments and tools that can be accessed in Canvas using the LTI 1.3 integration. This quickstart guide can help you navigate using Turnitin in your Canvas environment.
