Turnitin has a variety of assignments and tools that can be accessed in your LMS using the LTI 1.3 integration. This quickstart guide can help you navigate using Turnitin in your LMS environment.
Create a Turnitin assignment in your LTI integration
To create an assignment or access other Turnitin tools:
- Navigate to the assignment list for the course you would like to add the assignment to.
- Select to add an assignment or external tool, whichever option is within your LMS.
- A modal will appear allowing you to select an assignment or other Turnitin tools. The assignments available to you will depend on your institution’s license.

Editing a Turnitin assignment in your LTI integration
Some assignment settings can only be edited within the Turnitin assignment, while other assignment settings can only be edited in your LMS's assignment list.
If you attempt to edit settings using the assignment settings, any greyed out fields or settings would need to be edited on your LMS side from the assignment list within the course view.
