This guide helps students submit to a Multipart assignment. A Multipart assignment is one larger assignment made up of separate parts. Your instructor may use a Multipart assignment to help you complete work in stages, such as an outline, bibliography, draft, and final submission.
Each part may have its own start date, due date, instructions, submission, grade, and feedback. You can use the Multipart Overview to check what you have submitted, what is still upcoming, and whether feedback is available.
In this guide:
- Open a Multipart assignment
- Review the Multipart Overview
- Submit to a Multipart assignment part
- Review feedback for a Multipart assignment part
Open a Multipart assignment
Your Multipart assignment parts appear in your assignment list as separate assignments. Select the assignment part you want to open.
When the assignment opens, the part badge shows which part you are viewing and the total number of parts. For example, Part 3 of 4 means you are viewing the third part in a four-part assignment.
Review the Multipart Overview
The Multipart Overview shows each part of the assignment in one place. Use it to check your progress across the full assignment.
The overview shows:
- The name of each part or submission
- The status of each part
- Start and due dates
- Grades, when available
- Feedback, when available
A part may show as Current, Submitted, In progress, or Not submitted, depending on the assignment setup and your submission status.
Submit to a Multipart assignment part
Each part of a Multipart assignment has its own submission. Submit to the current part when it is available.
The submission steps may vary depending on the assignment type. For more help, see:
Review feedback for a Multipart assignment part
Your instructor may release feedback for one part before you submit another part.
If feedback is available for a part, you will see a Review your feedback banner when viewing the subsequent part. Select Open Feedback to review the feedback for that part.
You can also use the Multipart Overview to see which parts have feedback available. A red dot on the feedback icon in the Feedback column indicates that feedback is available.
