Using Turnitin on mobile and LMS mobile applications

Turnitin is a web-based service and provides the most reliable experience when accessed using a supported desktop or laptop browser. Many Turnitin workflows can also be accessed from mobile devices, though the experience may vary depending on the feature, device, browser, and screen size.

Using Turnitin on mobile devices

Turnitin Feedback Studio aims to support the main workflows for instructors and students from mobile iOS and Android devices, using their default browsers.

For the best experience, use a device with a screen size of at least 6.1 inches for phones (e.g. iPhone 16, Samsung Galaxy A16) or 11 inches for tablets (e.g. iPad, Samsung Galaxy S11), and make sure your browser is up to date.

Students

Students can complete most primary tasks on phones (6.1 inches or larger) and tablets (11 inches or larger), including:

  • Viewing assignment details
  • Submitting assignments
  • Opening Integrity Reports
  • Viewing feedback and grades

Instructors

Instructors can complete submission review and grading tasks on tablet devices (11 inches or larger), including:

  • Opening and reviewing Similarity Reports
  • Navigating report layers and insights
  • Adding annotations and comments
  • Grading with rubrics
  • Leaving summary feedback

Interfaces work better in landscape orientation. Instructor workflows are not supported on phones.

For workflows that involve extended configuration, such as creating assignments or adjusting course settings, we recommend using a desktop or laptop device.

Turnitin Feedback Studio Classic on mobile

Turnitin is prioritizing all new development on responsive-design best practices.

While the classic Feedback Studio Similarity Report may load in mobile browsers without issue, grading and feedback workflows are not optimized for smaller screens and are officially unsupported.

Turnitin recommends instructors and administrators perform all class and assignment management workflows for the classic experience on a desktop or laptop browser. This will always provide the most reliable experience.

LMS mobile app support

Turnitin is not supported for use inside third-party LMS mobile apps.

Turnitin does not officially support third-party LMS mobile apps. For the best experience, we recommend access via the LMS from a supported web browser
