Reviewing rubrics or grading forms

Rubrics and grading forms can be used by your instructor to evaluate your work based on defined criteria and scales.

If your instructor has provided a rubric or grading form for your assignment, you can view it before submitting to your assignment in order to get an idea of what your instructor's expectations are. See our Submitting to Turnitin section of guidance for instructions on how to view rubrics and grading forms beforehand.

These instructions are for accessing your rubric and grading form after your submission has been graded.

  1. To access the rubric for your assignment, click the speech bubble icon from the product toolbar.

  2. Select the View Rubric button from the Instructor Feedback side panel.

  3. A new window will appear where you can view the rubric or grading form that was used to grade your paper. Each blue highlighted box shows where you have been graded in each of the criteria of the assignment. You may need to scroll up and down, or left and right to see all boxes, depending on the size of your browser's window.

A rubric might look like this:

If your browser has a pop-up blocker active, you may need to add Turnitin to its exceptions list in order to view the rubric.

  1. Select the Close button to exit the expanded rubrics window.
