Submitting to a Handwritten Assignment

  1. Navigate to and open your assignment as you usually would.

The top half of this screen displays the Assignment details. Here, you can download a blank copy of the assignment, see your assignment due date, and whether or not your instructor has allowed Late submissions and Resubmissions.
  • When late submissions are enabled, you can submit after the due date; when disabled, you must submit before the due date.
  • When resubmissions are enabled, you are allowed to submit as many times as you like before the due date; when disabled, you can only submit one time.

If your instructor has not finished setting up the assignment, you may see a message that says your instructor has not set up the assignment yet. If this happens, check back later or, if you believe this is a mistake, contact your instructor.

  1. Beneath the Preview and submit heading, select the Browse Files button or drag your PDF directly into the upload box to upload your submission.

Your submission must be a single PDF file. If you need help creating a PDF, see our How to make a PDF guidance.

  1. On the next screen, you will be able to preview your submission. If your submission consists of more than one page, you can use the arrows to navigate back and forth in the preview pane.

If you want to cancel the submission process, you can select the trash can icon.

When you are ready, select Submit.

  2. Once you have submitted your file, you will be taken to a screen that shows a tile representing that you submitted. Until your instructor grades your assignment, it will indicate that the submission is not yet graded.

Once your submission is fully uploaded, you will be able to select the View Submission button to view a copy of your uploaded submission. If the button is disabled, this means your submission is still in the process of being uploaded.
  3. If your instructor has allowed you to resubmit to the assignment (which you can tell by looking for the Resubmissions label in the Assignment details area) you can select the Resubmit button at the top right of this screen, under the Assignment details section to initiate the resubmission process.
    1. After resubmitting to an assignment, you can select the Submission History link to view some read-only data relating to your previous submissions. Your latest submission will always appear above this area.
