What is new in the next-generation Turnitin Feedback Studio?

The newly enhanced Turnitin Feedback Studio, exclusively available in LTI 1.3 and native environments, offers its full range of similarity checking, feedback and grading features and AI-powered add-ons like Turnitin Clarity and Paper to Digital (available with additional licensing) in addition to the existing Turnitin Originality add-on. The key improvements include:

  • User-friendly, accessible design: Featuring a new intuitive interface, streamlined layout, and in-app guidance, the new report offers an enhanced and inclusive user experience, with a goal of achieving full WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 AA compliance by the end of the year.
  • Reimagined for clarity and focus: New match categories make the similarity report easier to understand and pinpoint problems in student papers, saving educators time and effort in interpreting results.
  • Enhanced efficiency for more meaningful feedback: Feedback Studio’s reimagined feedback and grading experience streamlines the assessment process, giving educators more time to deliver timely, actionable feedback that boosts student engagement and accelerates their learning.
  • Flexible assessment to meet diverse needs: Discover new flexible grading options that empower educators to deliver feedback that accommodates a range of pedagogical styles and supports diverse student needs.

In addition to the full set of features that come with the next generation of Turnitin Feedback Studio, a range of usual assignment setup routines become more streamlined and handy:

  • Similarity checks: Start them right from the Turnitin inbox (in the V2 integration, you do this from the D2L assignment inbox).
  • Unlock additional value with powerful add-ons: Easy access to all the assignment types through our new assignment picker to support diverse teaching and learning needs:
  • Learning Analytics Dashboard: Instructors can see this dashboard from the Turnitin LTI assignment inbox to track how students are working on assignments. It shows an overview of submissions, feedback given, rubrics used, average source variety, and more.
  • Easier assignment setup: Set up assignments just once in Turnitin, and the information automatically appears in D2L Brightspace. No more duplicate work!
  • Assignment Copy: This feature makes it easier for instructors to copy assignment setups from previous courses for use in new courses. 
  • Automatic student rosters: LTI 1.3 automatically keeps your student list updated in the Turnitin assignment inbox, including any students who join or leave the course after it starts.
  • Submissions on behalf of students: Instructors can submit or resubmit work on behalf of students.
  • Easy paper deletion: Instructors can request to delete papers right from the Turnitin assignment inbox. The Turnitin account administrator can then approve or reject the request instantly at turnitin.com / turnitinuk.com.
