This guide introduces instructors to the Writing Report, a feature of Turnitin Clarity, that helps them explore a student’s writing activity within a Student Writing assignment.
Overview of the Writing Report
The Writing Report gives instructors transparency into a student’s work with data points about their critical thinking. It equips instructors with insights that empower them to have conversations with students and teach writing with integrity.
Within the Writing Report, instructors can:
- View a writing process overview with summarized insights.
- Review pasting activity alongside matching details from the Similarity Report.
- Explore how the document developed using the playback and timeline.
- Access the student’s AI chat interactions (if enabled).
- Navigate to Feedback Studio to review the Similarity and AI Writing Reports, provide feedback, and use grading tools.
- Similarity and AI Writing Report availability is based on your institution’s license.
Example of the Writing Report for instructors
The AI Chat Activity tab is only visible to instructors and students if the AI Assistant is enabled for that assignment.
