This paper lookup tool is currently only available for Feedback Studio customers using Turnitin integrated with Blackboard.
The paper lookup tool can be used to manage submissions made to classes you are enrolled within. You can:
- Search for a specific class
- View all submissions made to an assignment
- Download a submission
- Request the permanent deletion of a submission
Launch the tool from within your LMS. For instructions on how to access the tool, see our Accessing the paper lookup tool in Blackboard LTI 1.3 guidance.
Search
Once you open the paper lookup tool, a list of your classes will be provided. You can select the column names to sort the results by Class name, Start date, and End date.
To locate submissions from a specific class and assignment, you can:
- Type the name of the class you are looking for into the search bar and select Search. Select the course name to proceed.
- A list of assignments within the selected class will be shown. Select an assignment title to view the submissions associated with that assignment.
- A list of all submissions made to that assignment will be displayed.
Request deletion
Depending on your institution’s account settings, instructors can send requests to administrators to delete submissions from their assignments and from all of Turnitin. Administrators have the option to approve or reject any requests that are sent. If the deletion request is approved:
Submission and composition deletions cannot be requested from Turnitin Support and can only be managed by your institution’s administrator.
- The submission will be removed from the instructor’s and student’s assignment.
- All reports and any associated grading will be deleted.
- The submission will not appear as a match to any future submissions.
To send a deletion request to your administrator:
- Use the search or click through to the assignment that the submission was made to.
- Select the trash can icon at the end of the row.
- Review the confirmation, and when ready to continue, select the confirmation checkbox and then the Request Permanent Deletion button.
- The request will be sent to your administrator and the submission will be hidden from the assignment and the paper lookup tool. If the request is rejected by the administrator, it will reappear.
