How Clarity works in a Multipart assignment
A Multipart assignment connects two or more assignment parts into one larger workflow. Each part has its own title, instructions, dates, settings, and submission.
Multipart assignments can include different Turnitin assignment types, including Clarity. For example, you could use a Clarity part for a first draft and another Clarity part for a revised draft.
Students complete each part separately as they progress through the larger assignment. Instructors can review submissions and provide feedback at different stages.
Continue writing from a previous Clarity part
When two Clarity parts appear one after the other, you can allow students to continue working from their submission to the preceding part.
The student's earlier submission appears in the next part's writing space so they can continue developing their existing work instead of starting again.
For example, students could:
- Develop an outline into a first draft
- Revise a first draft into a final draft
- Continue developing a research paper through multiple writing stages
When students continue from a previous Clarity part, the Writing Report shows the starting word count for the subsequent part. This helps distinguish the text students begin with from the work they add during that stage.
