Insecure passwords

In order to protect you and your institution's data, Turnitin will check your passwords to see if they are secure.

Often, passwords can be exposed in non-Turnitin data leaks. Turnitin will attempt to identify passwords that have been exposed in these leaks when users try to log in. We will also run these checks when a user creates or reset their password. We also check to see if a password is commonly used and/or too easily guessed.

On these occasions, if your password does not meet our security standards, we will require you to create a new one.
