In this guide:
Attaching to a new assignment
- Begin the assignment creation process and fill out the assignment details as necessary.
Please finish filling out the assignment details before attaching a rubric to the assignment.
- Under the Grading and feedback section, select the + Attach Rubric link.
- Use the tabbed navigation items to view a selection of rubrics and grading forms from My Rubrics, Institutional Rubrics, or Turnitin Rubrics.
- Use the radio button on the right to select the rubric you would like to attach to the assignment.
- Select the Create Assignment button on the bottom right of the screen. This will exit the assignment creation process and bring you back to the assignment list.
Attaching to an existing assignment
- Open an existing assignment.
- Select the Edit button to access assignment settings.
- Under the Grading and feedback section on the sidebar, select + Attach Rubric.
- Use the tabbed navigation items to view a selection of rubrics and grading forms from My Rubrics, Institutional Rubrics, or Turnitin Rubrics.
- Use the radio button on the right to select the rubric you would like to attach to the assignment.
- Select the Save Assignment button at the bottom right.
Detaching from an assignment
To detach the rubric from the assignment:
- Open the assignment, and select Edit Settings.
- Under Grading and Feedback, select the pencil icon beside the rubric name.
- Select Selected to deselect the rubric and detach it from the assignment.
A prompt will appear indicating that all existing rubric feedback will be removed from submissions in the assignment. Select Remove Rubric to continue.
Note: If the currently selected rubric is not visible in the list, it may have been archived. In this case, you can either restore the rubric to deselect it or select a different rubric to replace it. Additionally, if a rubric used for grading is archived and replaced with another, then later restored and reattached to the same assignment, the original rubric scoring will also be restored, provided the grading has not been manually modified in the meantime.
- Select Save Assignment at the bottom of the screen.
