Editing a Turnitin assignment using Google Classroom

This guide for instructors explains how to edit a Turnitin Feedback Studio assignment and assignment settings from the Google Classroom integration.

In this guide:

Editing an assignment

  1. From the Classwork tab, select the three-dots options menu beside the assignment you would like to edit. From the dropdown that appears, select Edit
  2. Here, you can make changes to the assignment via Google Classroom. Some assignment settings can only be edited within the Turnitin assignment, while other assignment settings can only be edited in the Google Classroom assignment settings. Use the reference table below to learn more about where each setting should be edited. Any unlisted settings can be edited within the Turnitin assignment settings.
  3. Select the Turnitin assignment to launch it.

Instructions do not sync between Turnitin and Google Classroom. If students need to see the same instructions in both places, add them in Google Classroom and duplicate them in Turnitin as needed.

The Turnitin start date and Google Classroom schedule control different parts of the workflow. The Turnitin start date determines when students can begin submitting to Turnitin. The Google Classroom schedule determines when the assignment becomes visible in Google Classroom.
