Accessing Feedback Studio from the assignment list
You can access Feedback Studio from the Turnitin assignment list found within the General channel of your Team. View our guidance for adding the Turnitin tab.
By accessing Feedback Studio, you will be able to launch into the Turnitin Assignment Inbox and then into the Similarity Report to provide feedback and a grade for each submitted assignment.
-
Open the Team you created for your class and move to the General channel.
-
Find the Turnitin tab at the top of the channel and select it. This will take you to the Turnitin assignment list.
Active assignments will be listed by the due date.
The Submissions column displays the number of submissions that have been made to the assignment against the number of students who have been rostered into the assignment.
This will appear as 0/0 until the first time you open the assignment and Turnitin is able to read the roster information for your class.
- To open the Assignment Inbox, select an assignment title. View our guidance on using the Assignment Inbox.
- To create a new assignment, select the Create Assignment button. See our assignment creation guidance for more details about this workflow.
- To delete an assignment, select the trash can icon.
Any removed assignments will still exist in Turnitin's database and files submitted to the assignment will still match in future submissions.
Viewing submission statuses from within Microsoft Teams
By viewing assignments from within Microsoft Teams, you will be able to view the submission status of each assignment.
You can view assignments by selecting Assignments from the left sidebar.
Use the headings at the top of the Assignments page to view Upcoming, Ready to grade, Past due, Returned and Draft assignments.
A red dot will appear beside the heading if there is unread content.
Select the assignment title to view the submission status per student.
If a student has not made a submission, the Not turned in status will appear. Likewise, if a student has made a submission, the Turned in status will appear.
The grade for each assignment must be entered via the Turnitin viewer. When updating on the screen pictured above, grades will overwrite any grades provided by Turnitin.
You can use the three-dots option menu at the top right of the screen to access some Teams-specific assignment options.
Assignments must be managed via the Turnitin tab. Please do not attempt to edit or delete the assignment via this menu.
