Viewing grades in Microsoft Teams
While submissions must be graded within Feedback Studio, you can view grades and make them available to students via the Grades page in Microsoft Teams.
To access the grading area, select Grades from the left sidebar.
The Grades page within Microsoft Teams displays a matrix of students and their assignments. The students in the class are listed on the left side. Each assignment has a column in the matrix.
On this page you can:
- Search for a particular student within the class by using the search bar on the left side of the screen
- Filter assignments by date range selecting the filter icon .
- Export a copy of the class grades to either an Excel workbook or a CSV file using the dropdown at the top right of the screen.
- View the status of a submission beneath the title of a particular assignment. For example, the Handed In status means the assignment was submitted but has not been graded yet. The Viewed status means the submission has been viewed but not submitted yet. When a number appears in this field, it means the submission has been graded.
While grades can be viewed from multiple places within Microsoft Teams, the grade for each assignment must be created and edited via the Turnitin viewer. When updating via Microsoft Teams, grades will overwrite any grades provided by Turnitin.
Returning grades to the student
Once you have graded the student’s assignment in Feedback Studio, you will need to return the grade so the student can view their grade in the gradebook.
- Grade the assignment from within Feedback Studio.
- From within Microsoft Teams, visit the Grades page and hover over the particular grade you would like to return.
- Select the three-dots option menu. You can return a grade in two ways:
- Choose Return from the menu to directly return the grade.
- Or, select Open student work and then select the purple Return button on the right side of the screen.
- Choose Return from the menu to directly return the grade.
Once a grade has been returned, the student will be able to view their grade in the gradebook, and you will be able to see the grade posted beside the name of the student.
