This feature is only available with LTI 1.3 integrations.
Assignment Copy is a feature that makes it easier for instructors to copy assignment setups from previous classes for use in new classes.
This feature is not limited to the instructor who created the original assignment. Any instructor associated with the assignment can find and copy it into a new class, as long as they previously interacted with the assignment.
This tool makes it easy for instructors to:
- Copy assignment setups from previous academic-year classes into brand-new classes for the upcoming academic year with updated dates.
- Create a new set of assignments and then copy those assignment setups into multiple different classes using the same assignment dates.
- Create one assignment setup as a template and then copy that assignment setup multiple times within a class.
This tool also allows instructors to "upgrade" Classic Standard Assignments to New Standard Assignments as well as "upgrading" non-LTI assignments to New Standard Assignments.
To use the Assignment Copy tool, follow the steps below:
- When creating a new assignment, you will see an option to copy the assignment. Select Assignment copy from the Tools menu to proceed.
- Previous classes will populate in a list. Choose a class to see the assignments. You can also search for a particular class.
Moodle users: If you have used the Moodle plugins previously, you may see class names that are appended with Moodle PP or Moodle TT. These indicate classes in which you used the Plagiarism Plugin in a Moodle assignment or forum, or you created an assignment using the Turnitin Assignment 2 activity or resource option.
- Choose the assignment or assignments you want to copy. You can also choose to upgrade Classic Standard Assignments to New Standard Assignments using this, too. Then choose Copy Assignments.
- You can adjust the names of the copied assignments as well as the start date, due date, and feedback release date. You can also apply dates in bulk. If you would like to add an assignment from another class, select Add from Another Class.
It is not currently possible to edit the Instructions field for each assignment in this area. As a workaround, you can edit this field after the initial creation of the assignment(s). We are exploring adding support for this in the future.
- Select Save. Once the copied assignments are created, you will be able to see them in your assignment list.
