You can provide individualized feedback to students via inline comments or suggest specific text to remove by using strikethrough.

Inline comments
Inline comments allow you to leave text directly on your student's paper.
Adding inline comments
Inline comments allow you to leave text directly on your student's paper within the submission and are best suited for shorter comments or precise corrections (i.e. figures, punctuation, citations).
- Select anywhere on the submission and choose the Text icon from the on-screen menu.
- Begin typing your comment.
- To change the text size, select the “T” from the inline comment menu.
- To change the text color, select the color icon from the inline comment menu.
- To change the text size, select the “T” from the inline comment menu.
- Select anywhere outside the comment box to save and apply to the submission.

Revising and moving inline comments
- To revise the inline comment, select the text comment and make your changes.
- You can also change the color or text size.
- You can also change the color or text size.
- Select anywhere outside the comment box to save.
- You can move a comment by selecting and dragging it to where you would like to place it.
Deleting inline comments
- To delete an inline comment, open the comment, and select the trashcan icon from the menu.
- A green success message will appear in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. If you change your mind, select Undo from the message to reinstate your inline comment.
Strikethroughs
A strikethrough mark indicates that text should be deleted.
Adding strikethrough
- On the student’s submission, highlight a piece of text by clicking and dragging your cursor.
- From the on-screen menu, select the strikethrough icon (a “T” with a horizontal line through it) to strike through the selected text.
Deleting strikethroughs
- To remove the strikethrough, select the text with the line through it. Then, select the trash can icon that appears above.
- A green success message will also appear in the bottom left corner of the screen. If you change your mind, select Undo from the message to restore your strikethrough.
