Logging in to Turnitin Similarity/SimCheck as an administrator

This guide helps administrators sign in to Turnitin Similarity or SimCheck using their account’s unique tenant URL, including where to find the URL and what to expect if two-factor authentication is required.

Logging in

To begin using Turnitin, you must first log in.

If you have just created an account with Turnitin, you will have set your username and password during the account creation process.

Go to your account’s unique tenant URL. The URL will look something like [your institution].turnitin.com and it will have been provided in your Turnitin welcome email.

We recommend bookmarking this unique URL so you can easily find it in the future.

On the login screen, enter the username and password.

Your username may not necessarily be your email. You will have set a unique username during your account creation.

If you have forgotten either your username or your password, select the relevant link to reset this information.

Once you've entered your credentials, select the Sign in button.

Two factor authentication

To help protect Turnitin accounts, you may be asked to complete an additional verification step when signing in

If your account has two factor authentication, you will be prompted to enter a login code that has been sent to your email address. Once you have entered the code, select Submit. The code is active for 15 minutes. If the email with the code fails to send or has expired, select Request a new code.

After 5 failed logins within an hour, you will be temporarily locked out for 5 minutes.
