Minor discrepancies may appear between AI writing detection scores
Turnitin license(s): Any license with AI writing detection enabled
We’re aware of an issue where users may notice a small discrepancy between the AI writing detection score shown in the assignment inbox and the score displayed within the full report. This difference is caused by the way scores are rounded at different stages of the calculation and display process.
Although the discrepancy is minor, it may cause confusion when comparing scores across the interface.
We are working to implement a resolution as soon as possible.
AI writing detection shows incorrect message during processing
Turnitin license(s): Any license with the Originality add-on
We’re aware of an issue where, during the AI writing detection processing period, users may briefly see an error message stating that “AI writing detection is unavailable for this submission.” This message includes reasons such as “excluded by instructor,” “unsupported file type,” or “resubmission excluded,” even though these do not apply to the submission in question.
This occurs while the system is still generating the AI writing detection results. Once processing is complete, the expected AI score and report are displayed as normal.
Reports under Critical in dashboard failing to load (Authorship)
Turnitin license(s): Any license with the Originality add-on
Sometimes users are unable to access reports that have a large number of papers attached, and the following message displays instead: “Hmm...we couldn't find that. Please check to make sure you've entered the correct URL.” We are investigating this issue.
Workaround: Please close the tab where the error is displayed and try reopening the report again; this may take several attempts. If the issue persists, it’s recommended to relaunch Authorship.
Browser issue impacting AI detection visibility
There’s a known issue that is causing the AI writing administrator setting and the AI writing indicator to be hidden from users. This is a browser issue primarily impacting users on the Safari browser.
Workaround: To resolve this issue users should clear their cache. We also recommend that users ensure that any pop-up blocking settings allow pop-ups from Turnitin.
Non-US Turnitin Feedback Studio with Originality users unable to access AI writing detection when launching the document viewer from the Authorship Report
There’s a known issue that will prevent non-US Turnitin Feedback Studio with Originality users from being able to access/see the AI Writing indicator score in document viewer launched from Authorship.
Users will still be able to access the AI writing detection indicator and the AI writing report when they open a Similarity Report from their inbox.
Hidden text will flag white text on colored background (Authorship)
The hidden text flag will identify instances where white text has been used
As most essays are written on a white background, this method will usually be able to identify instances where a student has attempted to hide text
This will unfortunately also cause a false flag when white text has been used on a colored background; for example, white text on a black background
The image viewer is unable to display TIFF files (Authorship)

Unexpected page breaks in MLA double-spaced documents after running Draft Coach in Word Online
Running Draft Coach’s Grammar Check or Similarity Check in Word Online can insert unintended page breaks, typically right after the paper’s title or between paragraphs, when the document is formatted in MLA style with double line spacing.
If extra page breaks occur, manually remove them after the check or temporarily switch to single spacing while using Draft Coach, then restore double spacing.
Highlighting has remained on my draft when the add-on is closed
Draft Coach needs to edit your draft directly to apply highlighting. This will occasionally cause the highlighting to remain on the draft or cause conflicts with highlighting that you have added yourself. When you are finished using Draft Coach, selecting the Details tab should remove all highlighting. You can also use your application’s built in highlighter tool to remove the highlighting.
Selecting a match in the Draft Coach side panel does not auto-scroll to my match in the paper
If a match from the same source can be found on multiple pages in your draft, your document will scroll to the closest physical match. Draft Coach does preview the matching text in the side panel so if you experience any issues, this should help you locate the match in your draft.

A text wrapping issue affected a small number of submissions
Submissions sent between January 14th and 16th, 2026 may have experienced a text wrapping issue, where text could wrap from one line to the next by cutting off words.
Workaround: If your submissions were affected by this issue, there are two ways to address it:
- Students can re-submit their work; generating a new submission will solve the problem
- Reach out to Turnitin support to have all submissions re-generated for an assignment
Wrong version submitted for a small number of compositions
A small percentage of Clarity submissions processed between October 29th and November 11th experienced an error in which the wrong version was submitted. When students submit more than once, the latest version should be submitted; instead, in this instance, the earliest submitted version was actually submitted to the instructor, instead of the most up-to-date version. In some cases, this resulted in some of the students’ changes not being represented in the submitted version.
Workaround: If your papers were impacted by this issue, please reach out to our support team with the relevant Submission or Composition IDs. Our team will manually resubmit them so that the most up-to-date version is available. However, note that any grades or feedback applied to the currently-submitted version will be overwritten if a new version is submitted.
Pastes from Microsoft Word appear as images in editor
When pasting text from Microsoft Word, text may be inserted into the Clarity editor as an image.
Workaround: To resolve this issue users should use the keyboard command to paste without formatting (Ctrl/Cmd+shift+v).

TFS with Originality users were not seeing Submission Details in the new Similarity Report experience
